This course is designed to provide candidates with the theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a Telescopic Handler fitted with a jib or lifting attachment for lifting and transporting suspended loads.

Operators who already hold a valid Telescopic Handler qualification and wish to gain additional certification for operating with suspended loads. This course is suitable for those with no prior experience in handling suspended loads.
To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
• Responsibilities as a plant operator and awareness of industry hazards
• Compliance with manufacturer guidance, regulations, and legislation
• Understanding of lifting capacity charts, safe working loads, and how capacities are affected by suspended loads
• Different lifting configurations, working ranges, and how to assess each situation
• Calculation of load weights and understanding of centres of gravity
• Identification of overhead and proximity hazards
• Use of signal codes/hand signals and effective communication with a Slinger/Signaller
• Pre-use checks and correct fitting of lifting attachments
• Ensuring load integrity and security during lifting operations
• Environmental factors and how they affect safe operations
• Safe out-of-service and securing procedures
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS Operator Card, depending on the chosen certification route, or a Simply Learning in house certificate.
