This course is designed to provide delegates with the essential theoretical knowledge and practical skills required to safely operate a Telescopic Handler (Telehandler). It is aimed at individuals with little or no prior experience.

Anyone wishing to operate a Telescopic Handler who has no previous experience and requires formal training and certification.
To provide delegates with the knowledge and skills to:
• Understand the responsibilities of a plant operator and the dangers associated with the role
• Demonstrate a working knowledge of the manufacturer’s handbook and relevant safety regulations
• Locate and identify major machine components and understand their functions
• Locate and identify steering, driving and braking controls and explain their use
• Conduct pre-operational checks as per legislation and manufacturer guidance
• Mount and dismount the machine safely
• Start, stop, and manoeuvre the machine safely, both laden and unladen
• Navigate a range of terrains and confined areas with the machine
• Conduct necessary safety checks in the work area
• Prepare and set up the machine to carry out lifting and load-handling operations
• Perform lifting operations safely and accurately
• Load and unload materials from transport vehicles
• Fit, adjust, and remove various attachments
• Understand safe procedures for transporting the machine
• Follow shutdown and end-of-shift procedures
• Apply environmental awareness during operations
Upon successful completion, candidates will receive an NPORS Operator Card, depending on the chosen certification route, or a Simply Learning in-house certificate.
