The Level 2 Certificate in Network Construction Operations (Water) – Service Layer is a competence-based qualification that allows learners to demonstrate the skills and knowledge required by service layers working in the water industry, whose role is to install water services on the distribution network.
The qualification covers the technical network construction skills required for a service layer, including health, safety and hygiene, and also includes requirements relating to working effectively and maintaining effective working relationships. The majority of learners evidence for the qualification must be generated from real work activities.
2 days - training room/practical training.
1 day - work based assessment.
Portfolio of evidence to be carried out by the candidate with support from the trainer.

The qualification can be used to up-skill existing staff. It is also one of the Level 2 qualifications that may be taken by apprentices working on the SASE apprenticeship framework for The Water Industry.
Upon successful completion of this course, candidates will receive a CABWI certificate.
