The Utility Safety Health and Environment Awareness portfolio of schemes have been developed in conjunction with industry to provide a uniform approach to health, safety and environmental awareness training across the utilities sector, in line with Health and Safety Executive guidelines.
The Safety, Health and Environmental Awareness (SHEA) Water Renewal scheme is designed for all persons who require access to operational sites within the water industry, both permanent and temporary, including all levels of operatives, supervisors and management.
The SHEA Water scheme comprises eight modules. The six core modules are common to all utility industries and form the basis of health, safety and environmental law and workplace practice. A further two modules provide the industry specific content. It is
designed to provide evidence that an individual has demonstrated an appropriate level of knowledge, understanding and behavioural awareness. This scheme and does not indicate any level of technical competence or skilled expertise.
The SHEA Water scheme covers the Health and Safety requirements to allow Utility Workers to register on the appropriate EUSR CSCS card and gain access CSCS controlled sites.
