It’s been a busy few months here at Simply Learning!
In addition to adding Angela Keyworth to our senior management team as Director of Retrofit and Renewables, which you can read about here, we also added even more people to our operational our training division.
We are delighted to welcome Katie Nicoll, Jason Emmerson and Paul King to our operational team and Brian Brunskill and Peter Reavey to training functions across our growing business.
These new roles will help us to continue to deliver excellence in training around Confined Space, Health & Safety, Streetworks, Electrical, Plant & Machinery and NVQs.
We have recently been awarded £586,000 from the West Midlands Home Decarbonisation Skills Training Scheme to deliver retrofit training and launched a new retrofit and renewables division in Sheffield, so all these new positions are key to supporting our plans for the future!
Brian Brunskill joined as a Technical Training Instructor, Peter Reavey as Technical Training Instructor and Assessor as a hybrid role with our sister company Simply Certification, Paul King as Compliance Coordinator and Jason Emmerson and Katie Nicoll as Business Development Executives, to support our growing base of customers wishing to train their staff in built environment particularly around utilities and green skills.
Brian Brunskill joins the company with over 25 years’ experience in street works and confined spaces, Peter Reavey, 30 years’ experience in streetworks. Katie has previous experience in the training industry with a specialism in communication and customer experience, Jason Emmerson with previous experience in business development and Paul joins with over 15 years in site health and safety and compliance
The construction industry as a whole has a massive shortage of new people coming through who are trained in vital skills particularly within retrofit and renewables such as insulation, ground source heat pumps, solar PV panels and insulation. The UK is falling short of its targets, so for those companies willing to invest in their people, the rewards are massive.
We acquired Expedient Training in August 2023 because we knew that to support installers and construction companies to hit targets, we would have to increase the amount of trained people into the market. The addition of these team members means we can expand rapidly whilst still retaining the levels of quality and communication that our customers expect.
