At Simply Learning, we’re committed to keeping our clients informed and empowered.

As a CITB Approved Training Organisation (ATO), we’re excited to share important updates from CITB that will impact how construction businesses access training and funding.

Introducing the Training Provider Network (TPN)

CITB has launched the Training Provider Network (TPN) – a new initiative designed to bring together quality-assured training providers across Great Britain. This network aims to:

  • Make construction training more accessible
  • Raise industry standards
  • Build the skilled workforce our sector needs

As an ATO, Simply Learning is proud to be part of this transformation. The rollout is starting with existing ATOs, so expect more updates soon.

Funding Changes You Should Know About

CITB is streamlining its funding to make it easier for employers to access support. Here’s what’s changing:

  1. Skills & Training Fund Closure

From 30 September 2025, the Skills & Training Fund will close.
Employer Networks (ENs) will become the sole route for business development funding.
The grants scheme will continue to support core construction training.

  1. Industry Accreditation Grant Uplift Ending

The uplift supporting qualifications for Industry Accreditation will end on 31 December 2025.
Grant values will revert to £600 per qualification.

  1. ‘Suggest a Course’ Initiative Closing

This initiative is being retired as ENs now effectively gather employer feedback and training needs.

  1. New Grant Tier for Short Qualifications

From September 2025, qualifications at the ‘Award’ level will receive a grant of £240 instead of £600.
This ensures funding is targeted for maximum impact.

What This Means for You

These changes are designed to simplify the training landscape and ensure funding reaches more employers. If you’re unsure how this affects your business or want help navigating the new system, our team is here to support you.
