Description
To provide knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
- What is winching?
- Legislation.
- Inspection of wire ropes.
- Equipment safety.
- Operations safety.
- Use in the field.
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive an Simply Learning Certificate.
Prerequisites
The course must be delivered on the customers site and they must provide all equipment.
Dress Code
Candidates must bring the following items with them to the course:
- Safety Boots/Suitable Footwear
- High Visibility Vest/Jacket
- Safety Glasses
- Hard Hat
- Gloves
- Overalls/Suitable Workwear
Materials Required
Must provide the following equipment:
- Winch with operator handbook
- Cobra reel
- Swivel/shackle
- Towing head (63mm)
Candidates are required to bring paper and a pen to make notes during their training.
All candidates must bring with them one of the following forms of ID:
- A valid passport – no more than 6 months out of date
- A valid UK photo driving license - no more than 6 months out of date
- A photographic employee ID card
- A photographic ID card from an awarding body (e.g. IPAF, RTITB, NPORS)

If this course is eligible for a short course grant, please ensure we have your levy number before the course start date, and your candidates provide their national insurance numbers on the day of the course. Without this information, we cannot claim the levy on your behalf and take no responsibility for the grant not being claimed.
