This course aims to bring health and safety knowledge up-to-date, as well as giving a thorough overview of the legislative changes and their impact in the workplace.
The course includes a wide range of topics which have been affected by changes to procedures, and builds upon the material in the original course.
Description
This course is suitable for delegates who have previously passed the 2 day Site Supervision Safety Training Scheme (SSSTS) course.
This course refreshes knowledge and understanding in the following areas:
- Supervise health and safety on site in accordance with current legal provisions and within the context of their role.
- Develop an understanding of responsibility and accountability for site health, safety and welfare of workers on site.
- Recognise that a site is efficient, economical, productive and environmentally friendly.
- The Health and Safety at Work Act
- Construction Design and Management (CDM) Regulations
- Risk assessments/method statements
- Recent changes in accepted working practices
- Behavioural safety
- Management of occupational health
- Electricity
- Excavations
- Working at height
- Scaffolding
- Demolition
- Confined spaces
Upon successful completion of the course, candidates will receive a CITB Site Safety Plus certificate.
Prerequisites
Candidates must provide proof of successful attendance of the 2 day SSSTS course. This certificate must not have expired.
Delegates must be competent in English at site supervisor level.
Exam Information
Theoretical training and paper assessment.
Dress Code
Trainees should come dressed in casual clothing. Reading glasses if worn.

Any candidate under the age of 18 must complete a parental consent form and return this to us prior to the course start date.
Photographic ID
A delegate who is attending a Site Safety Plus course must provide photographic ID to the trainer at the start of the course to be admitted. Below is a list of acceptable photographic ID that CITB will accept to confirm identity.

- Non-UK Driving Licence
- Work ID Card
- EU Country ID Card
- CITB Scheme Card (Including CSCS Card)
- Student ID Card
- Citizen Card
- Proof of Age Card

If a delegate does not hold any of the above ID documents, they will need to provide a completed waiver form to the first day of the training course.
